Summit
Christian School Athlete Expectations |
In an effort to be champions
of any game, we must also learn to be champions of life. All
athletes must realize that at all times, we are not only
ambassadors of our school, but for God as well. We must always
have a winning attitude and offer respect to our coaches,
teammates and all others regardless of whether we win or lose.
We must be committed to honor the Lord through each and every
effort. On and off the field, we must act like winners, handling
ourselves at all times with a Christ-like integrity and
attitude... especially in the tough times. Therefore, as a
Summit Christian School athlete, I will:
|
- Excel in the
classroom
- Work hard during
practices
- Always have a
positive attitude
- Expect the best
from my teammates
- Play with
enthusiasm. I will be excited and enjoy what I
am doing
- Play hard and
smart. I will stay focused and maintain a high
level of concentration and hustle
- Be an
encouragement and a leader. Leaders are people
who show the way and lead by their example
- Not make
excuses. I will learn from my errors and accept
responsibility for my actions
- Always put the
team first, not allowing others to talk
negatively about ANY team, each other or
individuals associated with the team
- Do the little
things right, even when no one is watching
- Take pride in
keeping all facilities neat and clean
|
ATTENTION:
Parents of SCS Student Athletes |
-
As a
parent, be involved in a positive way. Attend
games as often as you can and cheer for ALL
the kids on the team.
-
Please don't shout advice during the game. Cheer
FOR them. Your insightful tips may conflict with
the coaches instructions.
-
Please... don't harass the refs.
-
Please don't blame the coach for lack of playing
time. Athletes have been informed that playing
time is earned; not just because of skill, but
because of desire to do the very best they can.
A player has every right to ask a coach what
needs to be done to earn more playing time.
-
Please try and support the coach and stand
behind his/her decisions.
|
|
|
A few points
to remember...
-
Do
something. Don't wait for
someone else - YOU go and make the
difference.
-
Expect nothing. In all that
you do, do it for the Lord - don't expect a reward. Our
reward is in the Lord.
-
Blame no
one. Mistakes happen. The most important thing is that
you give it your personal best. Learn from the error,
and move on.
-
Trust in the Lord. With trust
in Him, all things are possible.
