Matching Gifts |
Many of
your employers have a matching program of 2 to
1 or perhaps 3 to 1. Contact your supervisor or
your Human Resources Department for the information. |
|
Cash |
Gifts
of cash or checks are the simplest and most popular means
to donate. Please make your checks payable to Summit
Christian School. Gifts postmarked by December 31st
qualify for a tax deduction. |
|
Appreciated
Securities |
Assets
that have grown in value over the years such as stocks,
bonds, and mutual funds, can bring you greater tax savings
than gifts of cash. If you have owned such assets for
a year or longer, you may deduct the full market value on the
date of transfer, and you will
avoid paying capital gains taxes on the increased
value of the assets. |
|
Gifts-In-Kind |
You may wish to donate
items for school use, such as computers, office furniture,
classroom supplies, library books and landscape material
to enhance our facilities and programs. Other items
of value may be used for our annual fund raising events or
sold with Summit Christian benefiting from the proceeds.

Memorial and
Honorary Gifts |
Memorial and or Honorary Gifts are a wonderful way to
give tribute to a loved one. Such
gifts may be applied to an endowment fund or may receive
recognition through other agreed upon areas. Engraved bricks, plaques and other
naming options are available. the family of those honored
will be informed of the gift and receive a certificate
suitable for framing honoring them. |
|
Life Insurance |
Designating Summit Christian School as the beneficiary of
your life insurance policy is a way to make a gift of
significant future impact. Your premium payments are
tax deductible. |
|
Retained Income
Gifts |
There
are gifts to Summit Christian School that can provide both
a current charitable deduction as well as additional
income for a lifetime. Interest rates on charitable gift
annuities are based on the donor's age and are very
attractive in today's market. Such gifts can be especially
appealing when made from appreciated assets. |
|
Legacy Gifts |
Including Summit Christian School in your will or trust is
a way to accomplish what may not be possible in your
lifetime. By making a bequest to the school, you do not
part with the property until after you are gone and estate
taxes are avoided. Bequests can be a specific dollar
amount or a percentage of the estate. |
