In
addition to focusing on golf and education, TGA’s program teaches life
values such as:
-
Honesty – Students
count and keep track of their points during contests
-
Respect – For
fellow players, the golf course, and the game
-
Teamwork – TGA
uses team skills challenges to teach students how to work together
-
Sportsmanship –
Students are rewarded for good acts during every class
-
Motor Skills and
Coordination – Students develop balance, hand-eye coordination and
muscle memory
-
Achievement –
Students develop confidence and self-esteem as they succeed in TGA’s
program and they are awarded pins as they advance to signify their
advancement
In addition to
instruction during the three levels, students are introduced to the
game’s rules, etiquette, and fundamentals of golf; then transitioned to
learning how to play on a golf course. Finally, the advanced level
students are prepped to play competitively through TGA and PGA Section
teachings.

Rain Days:
If there is a rain day, TGA has the ability to hold a class indoors so
the students will not miss a skill session.
Coaching:
TGA programs are conducted by lead directors of instruction who are PGA
Professionals, LPGA Professionals or TGA representatives with extensive
junior golf experience. Along with the lead director, TGA trains
teachers, volunteers, college golfers and students who are accomplished
golfers and have experience working with children to be TGA coaches.
All TGA employees are extensively trained and screened through the
Department of Justice.
