Varsity Volleyball Head Coach |
|
Wayne
Courtright
has been coaching since 1986. After
playing volleyball at Wheaton College, he began
coaching at Miami Christian. While there, he was an
assistant coach for ten years and head coach for
two. His teams won Districts twice and advanced as
far as the Regional Finals. After moving to West
Palm Beach County, he began building a volleyball
program at Berean Christian. In 2005, he took over
at Summit Christian and is looking forward to his
another season with the Fighting Saints. You may

will be working on Special Events as well as
assisting in the Headmaster's Office. They have been
married since 1988 and have two children, Kyle and
Amber, both athletes at SCS. |

2007 Season
Review
From Coach Courtright |
|
The 2007 volleyball season flew by way too quick. The girls
played well and knocked off some very good teams, ending the season
11-10. We were led this year by strong hitting and blocking from
Grace Cruz, Jessica Hernandez and senior Kaitlyn Grimail.
Grace and Jessica were two of the top blockers in the county throughout
the season. Our biggest surprise was sophomore Ashley Burns.
Although she had never played as setter before, she came in and ran our
offense like she'd been doing it for years! With solid defensive play
from Amanda Piersante, Amber Courtright, Lynee Valley, senior
Krista Perez, we were able to compete with some of the strongest
teams in the state. We didn't move as far into the playoffs as we had
hoped, but it is exciting to see the core of our team returning next
year. Thank you, seniors. We'll miss you. |
